What is corporate mindfulness meditation?

Corporate mindfulness meditation is an evident based tool for reducing stress and preventing burnout.

Mindfulness Meditation sessions focus how to reduce stress in the office and at home.

The mindfulness meditation techniques I teach are secular (non-religious) and rooted in neuroscience.

Meditation is one way of practicing mindfulness in the workplace but not the only way as there are many other mindfulness meditative relaxing de-stressing techniques!

 

Why is mindfulness important in the workplace?

Practicing mindfulness not only has physiological benefits for individuals but also has a positive impact on their workplace. Mindfulness helps drives many aspects of a healthy workplace including well being, relationships, productivity, creativity, reduces stress and anxiety. 

Well being

Organizations are becoming more invested in the well being of employees due to an increased awareness of the costs associated with an unhealthy workforce. The number of sick days lost to serious mental health issues has doubled in the past decade and mental health is the leading cause of sickness-related absences and are closely tied to employee stress and mental health.

Resilience and the ability to deal with difficult situations is critical to well being. During stressful periods, employees with high levels of resilience will be able to persevere and remain engaged and productive. Mindfulness at work can support resilience by equipping employees with the ability to understand their emotions, their level of stress, and their ability to influence them.

Mindfulness training enables employees to respond to difficult situations effectively and has been shown to have a positive effect on burnout, well being, and stress. Other research has shown that employees who practice mindfulness have higher levels of well-being through improved emotional resilience, better work-life balance, and higher job performance ratings.

Relationships

 Positive working relationships yield more productive teams, altruistic behavior, and ultimately increased productivity. Many studies have shown a clear link between mindfulness and improved workplace relationships. The link between these two also extends beyond the workplace to more satisfying personal relationships and increased empathy and sympathy when interacting with others.

Various studies have measured the relationship between a leader’s mindfulness and employee well being found that increased levels of mindfulness reduced employee stress, increased work-life balance, improved performance, and enhanced engagement.

Creativity

Mindfulness can assist in creative thinking by providing increased focus, greater idea generations, and improved receptiveness to new ideas.

 

 

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK

We are living in a world that in the past few years has been in such a great social pressure and put us dealing with situations never experienced before which made us mentally vulnerable to world wide situation we had little control but never the less have created much distress in our lives. In UK as in the rest of the world the Covid-19 pandemic and now the war in Ukraine has been having and having now a huge devastating impact in reduced ability to connect with others, uncertainties of our lives due to these events and putting ourselves into such great mental stress by disconnecting with our own goodness and internalizing negative emotions, such anxiety, worries, depression, loneliness, financial instability etc. But all of this although it s been and still happening is something that can make us loose touch with what is more important for us. Our mental stability and mental health.

Becoming Aware of what is going on with us, by consciously pause and give ourselves time in a more kind, accenting, non judgemental way, is the first step to learn how to give ourselves  the space to be as we are and returning to attend each moment as it is. It doesn't mean that we have to like what is happening but if we learn to mindfully, then  accept a situation as it is it takes away that pressure of wanting things to be different as we wanted them to be.

In a world that is increasingly opening up to and understanding those with mental health issues, it’s no surprise that Mental Health Awareness Week is now a firmer fixture on calendars around the UK and beyond.

Practicing Mindfulness Meditation helps people to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations so that instead to be overwhelmed by them  and over reacting to  feeling or a situation. with patience over time will give the capacity and awareness to understand and manage them. Practicing mindfulness can give more insight into emotions, boost attention and concentration, and improve relationships.

 

WHAT IS GUIDED MINDFUL MEDITATION?

Mindfulness meditation isn't about letting your thoughts wander. But it isn't about trying to empty your mind, either. Instead, the practice involves paying close attention to the present moment, especially our own thoughts, emotions and sensations, whatever it is that's happening.
